Introduction to CHOAM Salvage Rights Event in Dune Awakening
Dune: Awakening’s first ever global event, CHOAM Salvage Rights, has landed and completely changed the gameplay dynamics of Hagga Basin. Running until the much-anticipated major update on September 10th, this event throws players into an exciting new scenario where cargo ships are constantly being shot down by mounted turrets on cliffs and the land. These crashed cargo ships fall to the desert floor, and they are your gateway to unique rewards via salvaging.
At first, when you log in, you won’t receive any direct event notifications. The trick is to head over to the Anvil Tradepost located in the Eastern Vermillius Gap. Here, near the contracts board, you will find a new NPC known as the CHOAM Representative who acts as the event vendor. This NPC introduces you to the event by offering three new contracts and a chance to trade your CHOAM Cargo — the main collectible from the fallen ships — for exclusive cosmetics and gear.
The event itself consists mainly of three exciting quests: Retrieve CHOAM Cargo, Sabotage Kirab Emplacements, and Make Them Pay. To earn CHOAM Cargo, players must loot chests hidden inside the cargo freighters that have been shot down, as well as the enemy gun emplacements scattered across the map. Sabotaging Kirab Emplacements requires tactical combat—eliminate Kirab enemies guarding the turrets, then use a Cutteray to dismantle protective plates and disable these artillery placements permanently. Finally, the “Make Them Pay” quest focuses on killing 25 Kirab enemies in the Vermillius Gap areas or near the gun emplacements buy Dune Awakening Items.
By completing these contracts, you earn CHOAM Cargo, which you can then exchange for unique rewards such as weapon skins and decorative items for your base. This event isn’t just a grab for loot — it creates a dynamic battlefield atmosphere with aerial firefights and ground skirmishes for control and salvage. It’s a fresh, immersive experience that pumps new life into Dune: Awakening’s survival gameplay while teasing future content tied to the upcoming Chapter 2 update and Lost Harvest DLC Dune Awakening Solari.
For anyone looking to level up their Dune experience or gear up with rare cosmetics, jumping into the CHOAM Salvage Rights event is a must before it ends this September. The combination of scavenging, PvP tension around high-value loot, and new quest mechanics brings a thrilling layer of depth to the expansive world of Arrakis. Get ready to work with your friends or face off against rival players as you fight for the CHOAM cargo and dominance in the sands of Hagga Basin!
