Rochester, NY - Walking For Rochester has officially launched its community fundraiser running from now through February 25, 2026. This campaign will support the development and launch of Rochester’s Litter Elimination System (LES), a citywide system designed to eliminate litter through coordinated data, technology, community programs, and partnerships. The LES combines real time mapping, neighborhood level activity, volunteer engagement, business participation, and targeted cleanup operations to create a full city approach to litter management.
The system will be unveiled publicly during the inaugural event formally called Litter Seminar: "Litter Revolution." This event will take place on February 25 at Three Heads Brewing from 6 to 8 pm. The event is free and open to the public.
This fundraiser is strengthened through a significant partnership with Wonder Windows. All donations will be matched until the campaign reaches twenty thousand dollars. Every contribution made between now and February 25 holds double the impact for the community.
Funds raised will support the next phase of the LES which includes expanding the Certified Volunteer Program, scaling to two hundred cleanups citywide in 2026, and advancing the GIS dashboard that will guide real time citywide litter management. Additional funds will support further development of Walking For Rochester’s mobile app and the growth of the Cleanups on the Water program.
As a special thank you, anyone who gives one hundred dollars or more will receive a limited edition blacked out WFR hoody. After donating, supporters can email their full name and mailing address to info@walkingforrochester.org. Donations can be made directly at https://walkingforrochester.org.
