Upper Falls Officer Injured Arrest

Rochester, NY - Around 12:30pm, yesterday, Officers responded to the area of Upper Falls Blvd and Thomas Street for the report of a family trouble. Upon arrival, they learned that the victim and suspect were in a domestic related argument, during which time the suspect pushed the victim to the ground, causing her a head injury. Officers located the suspect, 36-year old Antonio Poole in a nearby vehicle. Despite multiple commands to exit the vehicle, he refused and became confrontational.
During the subsequent use of force to remove Poole from the vehicle, the vehicle struck an Officer in the lower body, causing injury. As the investigation continued, Officers located two sandwich bags containing suspected cocaine and a digital scale. The Officer was transported to a local hospital and will be out of work for an indeterminate amount of time. Poole was transported to the Monroe County Jail and arraigned in Rochester City Court. He is currently being held in the Monroe County Jail with $10,000 bail.
Antonio Poole, age 36, is charged with Assault in the 2nd Degree, Assault in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree.
