Rochester, NY - Our community is in shock. We nearly lost three of our men in blue and could have lost more. This evil attack marks of one of the darkest days in a continued dark period with so much senseless violence in our community.
This immense violence must end. Uniting and Healing Through Hope of Monroe County continues to denounce this evil. As Romans 12:21 reminds us, “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good”. John 15:12, says, “This is my commandment love one another as I have loved you.” John 14:27 says: “Peace I leave with you, My Peace I give unto you: Not as the world giveth, Give I unto you.” Our message and our mission is to never give in to Violence. Our community stands united that we will be free from violence, that the empty hearts of the lost can find a way to love and respect their fellow man.
While paying tribute to our three injured officers, we also pay tribute and honor all our RPD officers, and all of our men and women in uniform throughout our communities. We will be announcing initiatives to bring our community together and to continue our goal to overcome evil with goodness.
Mr. Clay Harris, Founder of Uniting and Healing through Hope of Monroe County will be joined by law enforcement, local community and church leaders, neighborhood associations and citizens to condemn thesecontinued acts of violence against our men and women in uniform. Additionally, Mr. Harris is inviting any families that have lost loved ones to the same senseless violence and the community at large to attend this press event to be held at the scene of the shooting.
Our goal is to bring the community together to demand that conflict and disagreements can be solved in a peaceful and loving way. We need to save our streets, our city, out people. We will be announcing our new solutions to end the violence.
