Uniting & Healing Through Hope Launches Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive & Dinner.

Rochester, NY — Uniting & Healing Through Hope of Monroe County will kick off its 7th annual

Thanksgiving Food Basket Drive at a media event on Thursday, October 23, at 1:00 p.m. The event will be held at Tops Friendly Markets, 3507 Mt. Read Boulevard, Greece, NY, marking the official start of this year’s countywide effort to support families and individuals in need during the Thanksgiving season.

This year’s theme, “Stop the Violence,” emphasizes unity, compassion, and healing within the community — honoring veterans and supporting individuals and families who have been victims of senseless violence. Our goal is to surpass last year’s basket distribution and provide 5000 baskets to those in need.

The food drive will run from October 23 through November 23, leading up to the Free Thanksgiving Dinner & Resource Fair on Saturday, November 22, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, 614 Clifford Avenue, Rochester, NY.

The event will provide free Thanksgiving dinners, food baskets, and community resources for those in need. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with local service organizations, faith leaders, and law enforcement representatives working together for safer, stronger neighborhoods.

Community members are encouraged to:

● Donate non-perishable food items at participating Tops Friendly Markets and partner sites.

● Register online to receive Thanksgiving dinner or food basket.

● Join the movement to promote hope and healing throughout Monroe County.

The initiative is supported by a network of community partners including local police departments, Churches, RIT, the University of Rochester, Coca-Cola, West Herr, First Student, Olive Garden, Tops Friendly Markets, and many more.

Event Highlights:

• Kickoff & Media Event: Thursday, October 23, 1:00 p.m., Tops Friendly Market,

• Food Drive: October 23 – November 23

● Free Thanksgiving Dinner & Resource Fair: Saturday, November 22, 3–7 p.m., Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, 614 Clifford Ave.
