On 10/1/25 at approximately 2:03 a.m., the Rochester Police Department responded to the 300 block of Troup St. for the report of a rollover motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival officers located at 2018 Nissan SUV on its side in front of a residence. Additionally, a 2016 Hyundai sedan was located which had struck a utility pole.
The subsequent investigation revealed that Hyundai was traveling eastbound on Troup St. This portion of Troup St. is a one way street for westbound traffic only. It appears the driver of Hyundai lost control of the vehicle, which veered off the roadway and struck the Nissan which was parked/unoccupied in a driveway on the south side of Troup St. This collision caused the Nissan to roll onto its side with the Hyundai continuing until coming to rest against a utility pole. An unknown number of occupants, to include the driver, fled from the Hyundai. It was determined that the Hyundai had been stolen from the 1300 block of University Ave. on or about 9/28/25.
There are no suspect(s) in custody at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
