Texas Street Shooting Arrest

Rochester, NY - On July 4, around 11:40pm, Officers responded to the area of Texas Street and Child Street for the report of a person shot. Officers located a male in his 20s suffering from multiple, life threatening, gunshot wounds to the lower body. He was transported to Strong Hospital and rushed into surgery, where medical staff successfully treated him, upgrading his status to non-life threatening.

The preliminary investigation found that during a large gathering for the 4th of July, the victim was approached by an ex-boyfriend of a female acquaintance, who then shot him and fled. Detectives identified the suspected shooter as 23-year old Elijah Chisolm.

On July 31, the United States Marshal’s Violent Fugitive Task Force located Chisolm and safely took him into custody. He was transported to the Monroe County Jail and charged as follows:

Elijah Chisolm, age 23, is charged with Attempted Murder in the 2nd Degree, Assault in the 2nd Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree.
