Shots Fired and Gun Arrests

ree

On July 23, 2025, around 11pm, Officers responded to the area of South Plymouth Ave and Luther Circle for the report of a male shot. Officers located 18-year old Isaiah Andrews suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the lower body. It was first reported that the shooting occurred in the 500 block of Genesee St, but Detectives were able to debunk that and find evidence that Andrews had accidently shot himself in the 200 block of Dr. Samuel McCree Way.

Several days later, on July 28, Officers responded to the 100 block of Dr. Samuel McCree Way for the report of shots fired. Officers located evidence of shots fired and were told that there was an argument, during which time Andrews pulled out a gun and fired several rounds at people. Thankfully, no one was struck. Yesterday, members of the United States Marshal’s Service and the Rochester Police Department’s Violence Prevention Section located Andrews during a traffic stop on Jefferson Ave. During the stop, Officers located a loaded .380 caliber handgun. Andrews and the other two occupants of the car, Jamier McDonald and Rahjule Keeton, were all safely taken into custody and transported to the Monroe County Jail. Isaiah Andrews, age 18, is charged with:

Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree for his actions in accidentally shooting himself on July 23.

Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree and Reckless Endangerment in the 1st Degree for his actions on July 28.
