Rochester, NY- The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, working in collaboration with the Rochester Institute of Technology Public Safety Department, investigated following several reports of an individual making inappropriate comments, and in some cases advancements, toward pedestrians on campus walkways. In some of these instances, the individual was wearing a bear costume. There have been no injuries reported.
Deputies and RIT Public Safety gathered evidence from pedestrians involved over the past few days to develop a suspect.
Today, deputies located and interviewed the individual in question and as a result:
Mohammad S. Akbari, 33, of Rochester is charged with:
·Forcible Touching (Class A-Misdemeanor)
Following this arrest, Akbari is banned from all RIT campuses and was transported to Monroe County CAP Court to await arraignment.
