RCSD Teams Host 17 High Schools at 2nd Annual Flower City Frenzy Robotics Competition

Who: Students from the RCSD’s four robotics teams: X-Cats (Wilson High School), XQ Robotix (Padilla High School), ROC City Robotix (Districtwide), and 10223 the Crimson Jewels (Monroe High School), along with high schools from across Rochester and beyond, including a team from Lake Placid.
What: Flower City Frenzy Robotics Competition
When: Saturday, June 6, 2026, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Where: East High School1801 East Main StreetRochester, NY 14609
Details: This is an off-season FIRST Robotics competition and a total celebration of all things STEM! In total, 17 High school teams from RCSD and districts across New York will battle it out as student-operated robots launch yellow balls to score points or block opponents.
In addition to the tournament, this year’s event features a career fair, showcasing impressive innovations from local tech firms and organizations.
Activities for families and visitors will include viewing the “pits,” which is open access to see the robots up close and meet the students and mentors who build them. Younger students will showcase FIRST Tech Challenge and FIRST LEGO League robots; there will be LEGO play zones and STEM activities for children, along with information about local robotics programs and on-site food and ice cream trucks.
