Details: On Monday morning, October 27, classrooms across the District will view a special video message from Dr. Eric Jay Rosser, Superintendent of Schools, about the power of reading. The District’s literacy campaign, Level Up for Reading, calls for everyone to build a culture of literacy that empowers every learner, every day. At 10:27 a.m., everyone in the Rochester community is invited to join the District for this citywide level-up reading moment: a drop everything and read event. At that time, students, staff, families, and community members will pause to read independently or with someone else, demonstrating a shared commitment to improving literacy outcomes for children. Staff are being asked to share photos of their school, classroom, or department participating using #RCSDReads on social media.
