Murder – Multiple People Shot

Rochester, NY - On August 2, 2026, at approximately 3:30 a.m., a group of approximately 100 people was gathered on Clifford Avenue, just east of North Street, blocking traffic and congregating in the parking lot of the gas station. At that time, an occupant of one of the vehicles stopped in traffic leaned out of the passenger-side window and opened fire on the crowd.

A total of six people were struck by gunfire. Thirty-five-year-old Shakara Green was on the sidewalk when she was shot in the neck. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The other five victims were ages 18 (three victims), 20, and 21. All five sustained non-life-threatening gunshot injuries to their lower bodies.

It does not appear that Green was the intended target. There are currently no suspects in custody.
