Rochester, NY - On December 29, 2025, at about 11:00 p.m., officers were called to 9 Garson Ave. for the report of a person shot. Upon arrival, officers were directed by 17-year-old Devin McBride Jr. to a downstairs apartment in the residence. In the downstairs apartment the officers found his father, 38-year-old Devin McBride Sr., suffering from at least one gunshot wound to his torso. McBride Sr. was pronounced dead at the scene. Recovered inside the apartment was an unregistered and defaced 9 mm handgun and a shotgun, both belonging to McBride Jr. Father and son lived together in the apartment on Garson Ave.
McBride Jr. has been charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree. Additional charges will likely be presented to a Monroe County Grand Jury.
