Main Street Motor Vehicle Collision

Update:

The suspect in this incident, 44-year old City of Rochester resident, Queen Dior, has passed away. In accordance with New York State Law, the Rochester Police Department has notified the New York State Attorney General’s Office.


Original Release from September 13, 2025:

Around 1:51am, Officers responded to the Sunoco Gas Station at 567 West Main Street for the report of a menacing with a handgun. The victim reported that someone in a white SUV had pointed a handgun at them during an argument. Officers quickly arrived on-scene and the victim pointed out a white Nissan Rogue that was pulling out of the parking lot. Responding Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop and the vehicle fled eastbound on West Main Street. Officers pursued the vehicle on Main Street, into downtown, where the vehicle gained distance and Officers temporarily lost sight of it near East Main Street and North Clinton Avenue.


Shortly thereafter, Officers located the vehicle near the Liberty Pole, where it had crashed. The crash investigation found that the Nissan rear-ended an eastbound vehicle that was stopped for the red light at the intersection of East Main Street and Franklin Street. This caused a chain reaction involving a total of five vehicles, including a City of Rochester Security vehicle.


The suspect was transported to Strong Hospital with serious injuries and is currently listed in critical but stable condition.


Both the driver of the vehicle that was rear-ended and the City of Rochester Security Officer were transported to Strong Hospital with a non-life threatening upper body injuries.


Thankfully, the other motorists involved were uninjured.
