Local Volunteers to Build New Ryan Center Playground in Single Day on Friday

The City of Rochester and the Healthi Kids Coalition are partnering with local volunteers; KABOOM!, a national non-profit organization committed to ending play space inequity; and Sierra retail stores to build a new playground in a single day.
Media are invited to capture video of the one-day build during the day, where on-site spokespersons representing members of the partnership will be available for comment.
Deputy Mayor Michael Burns will lead a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the new playground Friday afternoon.
Date: Friday, Oct. 3, 2025
Time: The one-day build begins at 8:30 a.m. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 2:30 p.m.
