Lexington Ave Pedestrian Struck

ree

Rochester, NY- Just before 7am, Officers responded to the 1600 block of Lexington Avenue for the report of a pedestrian struck.  Upon arrival, Officers located a civilian doing CPR on the female victim.  She was transported by ambulance to Strong Hospital, where she sadly passed away from her injuries.

The preliminary investigation found that a pickup truck was eastbound on Lexington Avenue and struck a pedestrian that was crossing Lexington Avenue, southbound.  After stopping, the driver of the truck began medical aide on the pedestrian until first responders arrived.  The operator of the vehicle was checked for alcohol/drugs and neither appears to be a factor in the incident.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Section and the Technician’s Unit are currently investigating the incident.  Lexington Ave will be closed for a period of time until the investigation is complete.  Additionally, we are working with Strong Hospital to identify the victim.
