Jay St. Homicide Update

Rochester, NY - The preliminary investigation has found that were was an altercation inside of a house on Jay Street that led outside and shots were fired. A short time after the shots were fired, an adult aged male called 911 from a nearby house on York Street, reporting that he had been involved in a shooting. That male was located, detained, and later released.
Detectives are working in coordination with the District Attorney’s Office to determine if charges are appropriate.
The deceased male has been identified as 30-year old Quinton Wynn, a City of Rochester resident.

On November 8th, 2025, at about 7:00 pm, officers responded to the 300 block of Jay St. for shots fired and the report of a male that had been shot. First responders found a 30 year old male lying in the front yard of a residence near the corner of Jay St. and Walnut St. The male had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to Strong Hospital by ambulance. The victim died a short time later.
