International Plaza to host Dia del las Velitas, Day of the Little Candles

Rochester, NY - The International Plaza, 828 N. Clinton Ave., will host its second-annual Dia de las Velitas, Day of the Little Candles, on Sunday, Dec. 7, from 1 to 5 p.m.

 

This special Market Days event will kick-off the holiday season with afternoon of flavor, togetherness, and celebration for all ages.  Families and visitors are invited to honor this beautiful custom with festive music, candle displays, and joyful community spirit.

 

Guests can also enjoy delicious food and drinks from De Mi Tierra, along with fresh donuts from Borinquen Bakery & Restaurant.

 

Dia del las Velitas is Presented with support from Rochester Prep, De Mi Tierra, and Borinquen Bakery & Restaurant.

 

The International Plaza brings the world to Rochester with a global mosaic of special events and vending opportunities that celebrate the music, food and arts of the Latino and immigrant communities who greatly enhance the city’s cultural vibrancy and economic vitality.

 

The Plaza is open for regular business May through October from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesdays through Saturdays, when merchants and artisans offer a wide variety of international cuisine and arts and crafts; and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays for the Market Day event series.

Community organizations and merchants are invited to explore the vending opportunities the International Plaza offers. Tent stands are available starting at just $20 per event.
