Hollenbeck Street Shooting Arrest

Rochester, NY - On January 14, 2026, around 3:20pm, Officers responded to a house in the 100 block of Hollenbeck Street for the report of a male shot. Officers located a 17-year old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Strong Hospital, where it was determined that his serious injuries were non-life threating.

The preliminary investigation found that the victim was at the house of a female acquaintance, when the suspect entered the house and shot him multiple times before fleeing.

Yesterday afternoon, Officers received information that the suspect was in a ride-share vehicle on the west side of the City. Officers located the vehicle in the area of Mt. Read Blvd and Jay Street, where they stopped it and safely took the suspect into custody.

The suspect, a 17-year old female, was arraigned in CAP Court and transported to the Children’s Detention Center.

The 17-year old female is charged with Attempted Murder in the 2nd Degree, Assault in the 1st Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree.
