Former City of Rochester Employee Anthony Hall Pleads Guilty to Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree
Rochester, NY- Thursday, November 7, 2024, 38-year-old Anthony Hall pled guilty to one count of Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree. Anthony Hall admitted to stealing an excess of $1,000, which belonged to the Coalition of North East Associations, Inc.
The Coalition of North East Associations (CONEA) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to address issues of housing, crime prevention, community and economic development, and youth leadership in Rochester, NY. While serving as a volunteer for CONEA in the City of Rochester, between December 1, 2018 and September 3, 2019, Anthony Hall used the debit card of CONEA to transfer money to his own Cash App account without permission of the non-profit.
This case was investigated by the New York State Police and the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office. Anthony Hall was arrested on August 13, 2024. Anthony Hall will be sentenced to 1 and 1/2 years to 3 years in the New York State Department of Corrections. He must also pay $33,550 in restitution.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Karina Pinch, of the Public Integrity/Economic Crimes Bureau, and Assistant District Attorney Caroline Rodriguez, also of the Public Integrity/Economic Crimes Bureau.
“The Rochester area is known for being rich in resources, such as the Coalition of North East Associations, that are used to better our community,” said Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley. “Anthony Hall betrayed the trust of the entire community by using these resources meant for youth development, housing, and crime prevention to line his own pockets. This is unacceptable and proof that the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office will not tolerate this type of abuse and theft. I look forward to Mr. Hall’s commitment to pay restitution and I sincerely hope that during his time in the New York State Department of Corrections, he thinks about his actions and what it means to commit fraud for personal gain.
Anthony Hall will be sentenced on January 21, 2025, in front of New York State Supreme Court Justice Moran.
