Foodlink ‘Meal Mobiles’ Cruising Neighborhoods this Summer!

Rochester– Foodlink's "Meal Mobiles" are rolling through Rochester neighborhoods this summer, delivering free, healthy meals directly to children and families while school is out.

The Foodlink Community Kitchen is a major provider of student meals throughout the school year before transitioning to Summer Meals service during the summer months. In 2020, Foodlink launched its "ice cream truck-style" Meal Mobile program to bring meals directly into neighborhoods where children live and play.

The program is already making a significant impact, with more than 13,000 meals distributed so far this summer. Foodlink expects to distribute approximately 2,500 mobile meals per week during the peak season. New menu items this year include snack wraps, quesadillas, and mini charcuterie boards. Meals are served daily beginning at 11 a.m. and are available while supplies last.

Meal Mobiles serve the Lyell-Otis, 19th Ward, and Maplewood neighborhoods, as well as make regular visits to local parks throughout the summer. The meals are generously funded by Monroe County through the American Rescue Plan Act.
