Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park Ice Rink Opens for the Season

Rochester, NY - The City of Rochester’s outdoor ice-skating rink at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park, 353 Court St, opens Mon., Nov. 24, 2025, for the winter season through Sun., Mar. 8, 2026 (weather permitting).

 

“Ice skating is a classic winter pastime that offers fun for all ages – and we’re fortunate to have a picture-perfect outdoor rink right in Downtown Rochester,” said Mayor Malik D. Evans. “I encourage the community to embrace the season at MLK Park!”

 

Open skate sessions include:

  • Monday through Friday:

    • 12 to 1:30 p.m.,

    • 1:50 to 3:20 p.m. (Adults only, except during school recess),

    • 3:40 to 5:10 p.m., 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., and

    • 7:20 to 8:50 p.m. (Rink is occasionally rented out during this session – call 428-7541 to confirm open skate availability).

  • Saturdays: 12 to 1:30 p.m., 1:50 to 3:20 p.m., 3:40 to 5:10 p.m., 5:30 to 7 p.m., and 7:20 to 8:50 p.m.

  • Sundays: 12 to 1:30 p.m., 1:50 to 3:20 p.m., 3:40 to 5:10 p.m., 5:30 to 7 p.m.

 

MLK Ice Rink will be closed on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, and New Year’s Day, Jan. 1.

 

During the Roc Holiday Village event series, Dec. 5 through Dec. 28, the rink will operate under special hours with free admission and rentals sponsored by Wegmans. Roc Holiday Village skating hours will be 4 to 10 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays; and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
