The 19th Annual YWCA Empowering Women Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 12:00–1:30 PM at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center. A beloved tradition in Rochester, this event continues to inspire and unite our community year after year.

This year’s keynote speaker is MC Lyte—an iconic trailblazer in hip hop and a celebrated rapper and DJ. With a groundbreaking career spanning more than 30 years, she made history as the first female rapper nominated for a Grammy Award. Her remarkable contributions have earned her numerous honors, including BET’s I Am Hip Hop Award, and recognition from ADCOLOR, BET Her, the National Urban League, and the Black Music Collective
