The City of Rochester will host Flower Fest, a one-time commemorative celebration honoring the 50th anniversary of the iconic City Mark, inviting the community to gather for an evening of art, culture, and Rochester pride.
The free event will take place Saturday, June 6, from 6 to 10 p.m. on the Pont de Rennes Bridge in the High Falls District.
“Rochester’s City Mark is one of the most recognizable symbols of our community, and this 50th anniversary is a moment worth celebrating in a big way,” Mayor Malik D. Evans said. “What started as a symbol has been embraced across Rochester, showcasing the creativity and spirit that continue to define our city.”
Created in 1975, the city mark has become a widely recognized emblem of Rochester, appearing on everything from buildings and vehicles to locally made goods. The design pays homage to the Flour City’s water wheel and the Flower City’s five-petaled lilac.
The event will transform the bridge into a vibrant, open-air marketplace featuring artists and vendors offering City Mark-inspired artwork, apparel, and handcrafted items. The evening will also include live music and documentary screenings exploring the history and impact of the City Mark.
Flower Fest will conclude with a City Mark-themed drone show above High Falls, creating a signature visual moment for the 50th anniversary celebration.
Flower Fest is produced for the City of Rochester by Bella Events Group. Vendors interested in selling City Mark-themed items must obtain the rights to use the mark in their creations. For more information on Flower Fest, visit www.CityOfRochester.gov/CityMark50.
