City of Rochester’s After-School Care Offerings Expand for the 2026-2027 School Year

The city of Rochester is expanding its After School in the Park program to offer affordable after-school care for ages 6 to 11 at two locations: Cobbs Hill Park, 100 Norris Dr., and for the first time, Maplewood Nature Center, 107 Bridge View Drive. Registration for the 2026-2027 academic year opens today at www.CityofRochester.gov/ASIP.

“A safe, supportive environment with opportunities to learn, play and make new friends – that’s what parent and guardians can count on when they enroll their children in After School in the Park,” said Mayor Malik D. Evans. “And this year, with the opening of our new Maplewood Nature Center, we’re able to make affordable after-school care accessible for even more students and families in our community.” 

From Sept. 8, 2026, through June 24, 2027, After School in the Park provides educational enrichment and fun activities from 2 to 6 p.m. on school days for $120 per week for full program year enrollment. Childcare is OFCS regulated, and DSS childcare subsidies are accepted. Activities vary by location and season but may include homework help, art and dance, nature programming, and more.

After School in the Park Break Week Camps for Winter, February and Spring recesses, following the RCSD school calendar, are automatically included in the full-year program cost, making it even easier for parents and guardians to ensure their childcare needs are met and that their children have fun and engaging activities to look forward to throughout the academic year.
