Community Justice Initiative Announces "Black Power Marketplace" to Empower Local Businesses and Youth Entrepreneurs

Rochester, NY – Community Justice Initiative (CJI) is proud to announce the next Black Power Marketplace, taking place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 398 Thurston Road. Following the success of previous community gatherings, this marketplace serves as a hub for Rochester’s urban communities to support local Black-owned businesses and foster the next generation of entrepreneurs.

In the words of Marcus Garvey, “A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.” The marketplace is more than just a shopping event; it is a movement to reclaim and control the economic health of our neighborhoods.

Event Highlights:

  • Local Vendors: A diverse range of products and services from community entrepreneurs.

  • Youth Showcase: Special vendor rate of $15 for youth participants to encourage early entrepreneurship.

  • Community Unity: Networking and support under the slogan #SAYLESSDOMORE.

“We are committed to helping the Black community and all urban areas in Rochester thrive,” said Craig Carson, ESQ, of Community Justice Initiative. “Economic empowerment is the cornerstone of justice.” Vendor registration is currently open. Standard vendor slots are available for $22, and youth vendor slots are $15. Interested participants are encouraged to register today to secure their space.
