12:30-2:30 Should we work for Ranked Choice Voting and eliminate party primaries in Rochester?
As we do each winter, we will have a member meeting to make decisions about advocacy. We will be discussing and deciding whether our League should sponsor an effort to amend the Rochester city council charter to implement the use of Ranked Choice Voting for city elections and eliminate party primaries in the election of city offices.
Please come and engage in the discussion so that we make a good decision. Only members of the League will be able to vote on this decision. You can join at the meeting. The minimum membership cost is $20.
Background material to review before you come:
Watch Majority Rules 101 on YouTube. It's a free 34 minute cut of the longer documentary.
Watch Majority Rules, a 90 minute documentary about the Alaska elections in 2022 where Final Five elections probably changed outcomes in ways that affected the whole country. It's 92 minutes. It's available to stream for a small fee on Apple+ and Amazon prime. We showed it last year at the Henrietta Public Library.
