Best Mid-Lake Fuel Stop Before a Long Afternoon Cruise?

Hey all—planning a long afternoon cruise with the family this weekend, and I’m trying to map out a smart mid-lake fuel stop on Lake Travis. We’ll be launching near Mansfield Dam and heading up toward the northern coves, maybe stopping to swim and hang out along the way. I’m not trying to push my range and risk running low late in the day, so a reliable place to refuel somewhere along the route would be perfect. While browsing around, I came across this Boat Storage at Clear Lake Shores, and the location seems ideal. It’s situated kind of perfectly between where we start and where we want to end up. But before I build it into our plan, I’d love to know—has anyone stopped there recently? Are the pumps reliable, and is it easy to dock during a busy weekend afternoon? Looking to avoid a fuel delay or crazy tie-up situation.

I’ll second that. It’s honestly one of the only fuel docks I still trust on a long day. I run twin outboards and always refuel mid-day just to stay ahead of things. Northshore is easy to approach and deep enough for larger boats without any stress, even if lake levels are a little down. I also like that it’s a bit off the heavy party zones, so you don’t have to navigate around wakes from big wakesurf boats while tying up. It’s a smooth, quick stop—and having reliable gas that doesn’t mess with your engine is priceless. I usually also top off the cooler there or let the crew stretch their legs for a few minutes. It’s well maintained and right where you need it on a long ride north. Great choice for a mid-lake stop.
