I’m originally from Nigeria and I had a cousin who made it to the national track and field team. I saw what she had to go through. Imagine: she was running in old sneakers on a dirt track where she had to pull out weeds with her own hands every week. No scholarships, no equipment. All training was at her own expense. Her parents didn’t always understand why she was wasting her energy on sports. They said, go study to be an accountant or a lawyer. And this, unfortunately, is not an isolated case. African female athletes face many barriers, from a lack of infrastructure to cultural attitudes. In many countries, there is still a belief that women have no place in the arena. Although look at Caster Semenya or Faith Kipyegon – they are literally rewriting the history of track and field. But how much pressure there was, how much unnecessary attention to their bodies, to their appearance, to "femininity"... Sports should be about the result, about fortitude and working on yourself, and not about stereotypes. About 1xBet - yes, they really work with the African market, including sponsoring football clubs in Cameroon, Nigeria and even women's teams. Many often wonder, Where is 1xBet located? The company is registered in Curacao, if I'm not mistaken, but they have local offices all over the world. True, they have a mixed reputation - there is sponsorship, but there is little transparency. Nevertheless, the fact is that even bookmakers help sportswomen in Africa more often than government agencies. Ironic, right?

I read you guys and it gives me goosebumps. It's very true to life. I'm not from Africa, but I volunteered at a marathon in Ethiopia a couple of years ago - the girls there are just awesome! Motivated, strong, but you can see that it's hard for them. And no anger - just light in their eyes. This really deserves more attention and support.
