TECHNOLOGY CENTER – PHASE 1 ONONDAGA COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Sealed bids for the construction of the RENOVATIONS TO WHITNEY APPLIED TECHNOLOGY CENTER – PHASE 1, located at 4585 West Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse New York 13215 will be received at the office of the Onondaga County Purchasing Director, 13th floor, John H. Mulroy Civic Center, 421 Montgomery Street, Syracuse, New York, until 2:00 PM Local Time, on August 17, 2023, and there at said office, at said time, publicly opened and read aloud. Bids must be on a lump sum basis.
The project will consist of addition/renovation in the area of the existing bookstore at the Whitney Applied Technology Center at Onondaga Community College: Work area in the existing first floor is 5,200sf and added second floor 4,750sf. The renovation work is a level 2 alteration, including but not limited to, demolition of existing architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing for a new 2 story freight/passenger elevator with masonry shaft and new elevated concrete deck floor with supporting steel structure built within the existing double height space as well as modification of existing footers, and other work indicated in the contract documents.

Printed copies are at the bidder’s expense. Additional charges for delivery and shipping. All bidders are requested to register with Syracuse Blue Print Company to ensure receipt of any addenda.
Pre-bid walk through will be held at the location at the address location, the former Barnes Noble Bookstore off Whitney Atrium at Whitney Applied Technology Center on August 2, 2023 at 2:00 PM to review the specific requirements of this project. All prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to attend.

Bidders are informed that this project is being progressed by the Onondaga Community College Facilities Department. This project will be subject to NYS prevailing wage. Contractor to provide the following: MWBE Utilization plan, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Policy Statement, Workforce Employment Utilization Re- port, Apprenticeship Program, and Minority and Women Business Enterprise Utilization Goals: MBE Utilization Goal of 18% and WBE Utilization Goal of 12%.
Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Security Deposit in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. Bid security must be in the form of a bid bond or certified/ bank check, made payable to The County of Onondaga. Bids with inadequate bid security will be declared informal.
