Tamiko
Byrd
During
and after completing college, Tamiko worked as an Account Executive, responsible
for communications, recruitment, sales, and training, for companies such as, Hillside
Family of Agencies, St. Joseph's Villa, YMCA of Greater Rochester, Monro Muffler
Brake, WXXI Public Broadcasting Station, and WDKX Radio. Simultaneously, Tamiko
tossed her hat into the arena of Comedy, earning her new title, "Lady Tee".
As a Comedienne/Event Host, "Lady Tee" has shared the stage and microphone
with Kings of Comedy, Bernie Mac, D.L. Hughley, and Steve Harvey; Saturday Night
Live's Dean Edwards; Def Jam Comedy performers Chocolate, Hamburger, Bro'Man,
Charles Walden, Michael Collier; comedian, Azeem, Barbara Carlisle, AJ Johnson,
James "Talent" Harris, Marcia Griffiths (Electric Slide), and George
Clinton/Parliament Funkadelic. "Lady Tee" has also hosted events and
interviews featuring, Kevon Edmonds, Jagged Edge, Big Pun, Sporty Thieves, The
Lost Boys (Mr. Cheeks), Dru Hill, DMX, JA Rule, Styles P, Method Man/Red Man,
Mint Condition, Destiny's Child, Kindred Family Soul, Ice Cube, comedian, Mike
Epps, Tiffany Evans, DJ Unk, and Jay-Z.
In June, 2002, after
working as an Account Executive for many human service organizations, radio, and
television stations, in Rochester, NY, Lady Tee founded a non-profit, mobile fitness
company, Soul Fitness, Inc. The mission of Soul Fitness is to promote and conduct
daily exercise classes and social activities, in underserved areas, in an effort
to promote personal responsibility and value for life. The vision of Soul Fitness
is to duplicate its program in urban areas across the United States. Today, in
the role of Founder/Community Personal Trainer of Soul Fitness, Lady Tee assists
groups and companies with planning, promotion, and implementation of wellness
activities and programs.
Currently, Lady Tee (Tamiko Byrd)
is the Director of Cultural Health- Rochester -Syracuse, for the American Heart
Association /American Stroke Association "Lady Tee" is also a guest
community health announcer on WDKX Radio, Rochester, NY, a privately, black-owned
radio station, whose call letters represent black heroes, Frederick Douglass,
Martin Luther King, Jr., and Malcolm X, www.wdkx.com. Lady Tee is an excellent
presenter/emcee and travels all over the country to speak for women's groups,
community organizations, conferences, concerts and events.
