RCSD Parents Invited to Join Board Commitee
Wed, Jan 29, 2014
The Rochester Board of Education invites all parents of students attending a school in the district to serve on a board committee as a Parent Representative. Parent Representatives have the opportunity to raise issues, express concerns, ask questions and provide direct input to board members in the decision-making process. One parent representative is selected to serve on each committee:
*Policy Development & Review Committee
*Excellence in Student Achievement Committee
*Community & Intergovernmental Relations Committee
*Finance & Resource Allocation Committee
Each Parent Representative attends monthly committee meetings, which are held during evening hours in the Central Office Building on West Broad St. Parent representatives are also expected to participate in the district-wide Parent Advisory Council to maintain involvement with the wider community of parents. Parent representatives serve for a term of one year, from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015.
Parents can obtain additional information from:
*The parent liaison to their child’s school
*The PTA/PTO contact person for their child’s school
*The District website under “Board of Education” and “Board Information”. Links to the Announcement and Parent Interest Form are provided on the left side of the screen.
*The main Board office at (585) 262-8525
The deadline for submitting the Parent Interest Form to serve on a board committee is March 15 and each committee will select a Parent Representative by April 30.
